Oahu Rental Market Overview
In December, rental volume increased nearly 18% year-over-year and 1.6% from November of this year. Median price rose sight from the same period last year but decreased over 5% month-over-month. Properties are rented for more than asking price, on average. Properties took four fewer days longer to rent, on average, than in December of last year but about the same amount of time as in November. As of 1/22, there are 544 properties available for long-term rent on Oahu, down 13% from last month. This is the lowest inventory since April 2025.
The number of luxury rentals increased significantly from last year but decreased month-over-month. There was no change in median price month-over-month, but it decreased over 4% from last year. 19.3% of luxury rentals had price reductions, compared to 33.8% in November. Luxury properties rented nearly 3 weeks faster than last year but no change from November. As of 1/22, there are 146 luxury properties currently available for long-term rent on Oahu, no change from last month.
